Counselling Skills Accreditations

Our Counselling Skills Program is accredited by these organizations.

The Canadian Council of Professional Certification (CCPC) was established for the purpose of recognizing the accomplishments of professionals working in their specific disciplines. Certification is granted and a professional designation awarded when applicants have met the criteria set out by each disciplines board of examiners.

The CCPC currently grants certification to a variety of disciplines including: counseling in addictions, gambling and solution focus, professional manager, spiritual direction and community service workers. The recipients of certification by CCPC are issued professional designations to use after their name. Click here for more information.

The Canadian Addiction Counsellors Federation strives to continuously offer the most effective and credible certifications to all addiction specific counsellors in Canada.

Incorporated in 1981, the IC&RC is a voluntary membership organization, which consists of other alcohol & drug certifying bodies across the United States and globally. Each certifying body belonging to the IC&RC agrees to use their minimum standards for reciprocity-eligible certifications. Each member board reviews and accepts the eligibility certificates of its sister board applications. The international standards abided by the IC&RC are widely respected and accepted, and have been positively recognized by leading authorities throughout the world as the symbol of quality assurance, within the field of addictions. The Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA) is a Canadian non-profit Society registered in accordance with the National Corporate Registry of Canada. The Association is governed by a Board of Directors which is elected annually by the members of the Association.

Since our founding in 1990, the CPCA has been dedicated to the promotion of public confidence and trust in the counselling profession in Canada. The CPCA serves the public from coast to coast. Click here for more information.

The Indigenous Certification Board of Canada accredits training and education programs to ensure they meet the standards sets for our certifications, so that the graduates of these programs can obtain their certification with ICBOC (provided they meet the work experience requirements). We have developed a culturally-based accreditation process for educational institutions, training companies and agencies, service agencies involved in the wellness and addiction field as well as for NNADAP training.
